Solitary lung nodule age less than 35 ,nonsmoker, less than 2cm , follow up with CT scan every 3 months for 2 years(man ! 8 CTs in 2 years !! that's too much )
unless these factors it's considered high risk( all of them or just one of them I don't know >>) are present then go for resection and pathological examination
The key to understand screening test is to understand the
concept of Doubling time , size by itself isn’t the risk factor but the time
span through which the tumor size enlarges and doubles , and that’s why
solitary nodules should be closely monitored every 3 months for two successive
years, because it worth to know that small cell carcinoma double in size every
30 days !! , adeno carcinomas also double in 180 days while benign lesions may
take more than 450 days to enlarge slightly and mainly due to associated calcification , although I answered the question wrong but I think it worse
the price to know that valuable piece of information , and please comment if you
